This fascinating region has enriched the nation for centuries through its geographical diversity, vibrant culture and amiable social practices. The resurgence and freedom struggle of the nation during the 19th& 20th centuries were pioneeredby the stalwartsof this region like RajaRammohan Roy, Vidyasagar, Rabindranath Tagore, Vivekananda. NetajiSubhas Chandra Bose, Khudiram Bose, Master Surya Sen.

In post independence era, the people of this region are always with the Government and do not hesitate to make their contribution in nation building by voluntary payment of taxes so as to provide necessary fund to undertake various development works. The Incometax Department has always acted as a facilitators in such endeavour by spreading its network in each every district of the region, manning its offices with efficient tax personnel and introducing various assesse friendly scheme like ASK, VDIS, Faceless Assessment, Vivad se Vishwas etc.

In the last decade the world of communication has undergone a revolutionary change with the advent of various modes of e-communication. In the changes scenario it is felt that the department should have its own platform to share various information with its esteemed tax payers and employees.
